SUMMARY:Sally Hirst\, 2017 Exhibition\, Norwich Theatre Royal
DESCRIPTION:Past\, Present\, Imperfections\nArtist Sally Hirst preview and exhibition of a solo art show “Past\, Present\, Imperfections” – the result of a year’s exploration into the history\, architecture\, realism and abstraction\, of Norwich’s rich industrial heritage. Cver 35 new paintings are on show including buildings that no longer exist which are depicted alongside present structures\, abstract alongside realism. The exhibition runs until 2nd October. \nSally’s work has always\, \n“reflected where I live\, places I visit and journeys I embark upon. The texture\, architecture\, signage and structures of each new environment dictate the development of my artwork.” \nSally Hirst\, ‘Past\, Present\, Imperfections’\, Private View\, Norwich Theatre Royal\, 18 July 2017 \nHer mixed media artworks take their starting point from mono-printing onto canvas or paper\, from this begins the process of building\, taking away\, and rebuilding with paint\, thinner collage papers\, moulding paste\, and paint encrusted stencils. The prints incorporate a range of techniques including collagraphy\, carborundum and relief printing. In addition\, she includes rust by her invented process of oxidising iron filings\, in so doing\, creating a work that physically incorporates the environment it reflects\, allowing it to play a role in the art itself. \nShe describes herself as an experimental artist who – \n“enjoys bending rules\, inventing processes and exploring layers of imagery. I am somewhat irreverent and always curious\, always learning and always experimenting.” \nPrivate View\n18 July 5-7pm \nExhibition Continues\n19 July – 2 October 2017 \nArt Gallery\n\n	#foogallery-gallery-740 .fg-image {\n width: 200px;\n }\n\n \n	\n\nShare this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n\n	Related\n
