SUMMARY:Waveney Valley Sculpture Trail 2017\, Raveningham\, Norfolk
DESCRIPTION:A trail of sculptures and site-specific artwork will lead visitors to an idyllic site in the Waveney Valley this summer. Following three successful years at the River Waveney Trust site in Earsham\, which attracted 45 artists and over 3000 visitors in 2016\, we are delighted to have the opportunity to explore further along the Waveney Valley and the 2017 Sculpture Trail will be hosted by The Raveningham Centre\, 8 miles east of Earsham\, 12 miles south of Norwich. \nThe fourth Waveney Valley Sculpture Trail\, curated by Sarah Cannell\, will host the work of more than 50 artists on a three-acre site of hidden paths\, romantic groves and secretive corners at the Raveningham Centre near Beccles\, Norfolk. \nOrganised by Waveney & Blyth Arts\, many established artists such as Vanessa Pooley\, Liz McGowan\, Gordon Senior\, Patrick Elder\, Simon Griffiths and Meg Amsden will be joined by up and coming artists taking part for the first time. \nThe trail will feature site-specific work\, 3-D constructions and sculpture throughout the site including textile works\, bronze sculpture\, ceramics and a sound installation. \nA programme of workshops\, guided walks\, and events will accompany the event\, including a family day and a curator’s guided tour of the site to give people an insight into how the sculpture trail was created. \nThe group has put a number of assistance schemes in place to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy the trail. There will be a pre-recorded audio guide to the Sculpture Trail\, a portable hearing loop for workshops and a British Sign Language interpreted Curator’s Walk. \nThe Ravenous Café\, on site\, will be open throughout the trail and will host the exhibition of paintings\, prints\, textiles and 3-D work by the Harleston & Waveney Art Trail Collective. \nA pop-up shop will also be selling a selection of the artists’ work. \nThere are a number of other businesses at the Raveningham Centre including MD Cannell Antiques\, Norfolk Rugs\, Helen Howes Textile Artist and Hobbies. \nOpening Times\nFri 18 Aug 2017 – Sun 17 Sep 2017\, 10:00am – 5:00pm \nAdmission is £5 for adults\, £4 for members of Waveney and Blyth Arts\, under 18s go free.\nSome of the trail is wheelchair accessible.\nWell behaved dogs are allowed on a lead. \nShare this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n\n	Related\n
